The IR LED, made of gallium arsenide or aluminium gallium arsenide, is a high-intensity diode housed in a water-clear plastic package. It is primarily used in applications such as smoke detectors, infrared systems, and the creation of line-tracking robots. This Pb-free LED measures 5mm in size with a wavelength of 940nm, optimized for infrared applications. It operates at a forward voltage of 1.6V and can handle a maximum forward current of 100mA, delivering a power output of 15mW. The LED is designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, with an operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C and a storage temperature range of -40 to +100°C. It features a lead spacing of 2.54mm, facilitating easy integration into various electronic circuits.
