The 74HC244D is an octal buffer/line driver with 3 state outputs in 20 pin SOIC package. The device can be used as two 4-bit buffers or one 8-bit buffer. The 74HC244D features two outputs enabling each to control four of 3 state outputs. A HIGH on output enable causes outputs to assume a high impedance OFF state. Inputs include clamp diodes that enable the use of current limiting resistors to interface with inputs to voltages in excess of VCC.
