The SparkFun Electret Microphone is a compact and efficient microphone designed to eliminate the need for a polarizing power supply by utilizing a permanently charged material. This small electret microphone is ideal for acoustic and audio applications, such as amplifying sounds like voices, claps, door knocks, or any other loud enough noises to be picked up by a microcontroller?s analog-to-digital converter. It translates amplitude (not volume) by capturing sound waves between two conducting plates, making it highly useful for various electronic projects.
